1 Sam 14:23-24, 1 John 4:18, Heb 11:6, 2 Timothy 1: 7, Gen 3:1-10, Matt 4:1-10

Men and brethren, there is a river joy that flows through the city of God. This river keeps on flowing forevermore. Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy. The scripture says “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved…..”Phil 4:1-23 and Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38. I speak to someone here, you are getting your joy back. 

There is a joy that is hard to describe. It is an uncommon joy. The joy that I am talking about gives strength. The joy that I am referencing gives peace. The joy that I am trying to express to you gives hope. The joy that I am writing about today is joy that refreshes and renews. By my spoken word, your joy is coming back.

How can you have this joy you may ask?

The question you should begin to ask yourself is; what threatens to steal your joy in life today? Sometimes conflict with other people can discourage us. Other times worrying about our difficult circumstances can choke out our joy. We may find ourselves paralyzed by financial stress during a cultural or personal economic crisis. The Apostle Paul offers wise remedies for our relational, circumstantial, and financial pressures. He had learned the secret of unconditional contentment that enabled him even to suffer joyfully. He had installed an internal security system that prevented anyone or anything from stealing his joy. Do you know the secret? Do you have a built-in security system that protects your Joy? Such inexplicable joy is counter-cultural, and will get the attention of the world around us”

In order to have this uncommon joy, you need a mentality and assurance to know that in spite of what may be going on around you, that you have the power to choose to have joy! Men and Brethren Joy is a choice! A choice that each of us has to make daily. I am not talking about a superficial, fake, flowery, conditional joy. I am talking about a joy that sustains you. I am talking about the joy referenced in Nehemiah 8:10″Then [Ezra] told them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” This joy comes from the awesomely awesome God meant to strengthen you each and every day of your life.

If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb

We must remind ourselves that the joy that you have the world did not give it to you and the world cannot and will not take it away! No matter what you are faced with my friend we each have the choice to live each day reaping the benefits of uncommon joy! Choose to grab hold of joy today and never let go! 1 John 1:4 “And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Romans 5:11 “More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Psalm 33:21 “For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.

2 Corinthians 8:2 “For in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.

Psalm 4:7 “You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. Thus we can sing

Finally in Psalm 30:5 the bible says “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Your Uncommon Joy has come. Hallelujah
