1 Cor 1:27, Exodus 33:11-23, Genesis 22:1-19, Prov 16:20-30, 2 Cor 5:7, Rom 4:3, Galatians 3:6, Rom 8:14 Mark 10:26- 30

Men and brethren, Greatness can be attained by everyone and anyone. We all have the potential to be great. Any man can be great if he makes up his mind to be the best person he can possibly be and to do what he does, the best way he can possibly do it. Great men are not born great, they grow great. You were designed and transported to this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously. You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideas and dreams. You were born with greatness. And until you’re ready to look foolish, to be called foolish by man, to act foolish you’ll never have the possibility of being great because God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise 1 Corinthians 1:27. I declare, no man born of a woman can stop you. 

How do you move in accordance with the voice of God to your destination? And most of the times if not all of the times the details comes when we are on the road to destiny. It is a fact that most of us find it difficult to follow other people’s vision when they lack details. The children of Israel demanded from Moses the details of their journey but alas he did not have it, he only knew the destination. This is one of the reasons why they lost hope easily and made other gods (Exodus 32:1). How frustrating is it to the leader when his followers asked for details of a vision and he only knows there is a destination, but he cannot produce details because heaven has not given him the whole step by step process. He is commanded to obey the navigational system of the Spirit, the voice of God. Exodus 33:11-23. “My Presence shall go with you” Friends, what you need is the presence of God. When God goes with you, all your enemies will run away. 

Can you put yourself in the shoes of Abraham when God told him to go and sacrifice the son he had waited for 100 years and that was after waiting 25 years from when the promise was first given? What will he tell Sarah? Genesis 22:2.  There is no record that Abraham told Sarah that he was going to sacrifice Isaac.

Our God knows the ending from the beginning but God does not give details to his servants all the time? Then, how do we hear the voice of God? How alert are we to listen to the step-by-step instruction from God that will lead us to greatness?

Any time God wants you to do something important for Him, how do you know God is the one speaking? Are we of the generation that instructs God where we are trying to go without option of hearing a different instruction from him? We come to see the Pastor with our own solution and yet we seek for counsel. Are we of the generation who likes to talk non-stop or the generation that believe we can’t speak at all to God? Are you a wife who put pressure on your husband because you want details of his vision?

Let me shock you by telling you that any time God wants you to do something important for him, he does not always give you details. He uses the journey and not the destination to train you on how to hear his voice. Sometimes we try to tell God where we are trying to go, the experience with God is what you learn when you are trying to get to your destination.

When you worry about not hearing from God clearly, asking questions like speak more to me, but he has already spoken to you once. He told Abraham; go I will tell thee where next to go, and what you need to do. Genesis 22:2. That is why the bible says we should walk by faith. If you have too many facts, you don’t have enough faith. 2 Corinthians 5:7 because Great faith is the product of great fight and faith does not deny fact; it changes it. So we actually don’t need fact to succeed in life. Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6. Therefore, in the journey of our Father of faith, God used the test of Abraham to train his ears to hear His voice under pressure

In our work with God, when you get to step one, there is always provision for the next step. Step by step is the secret of hearing from God. He may not give you details but He is committed to get you through the process. When you take the step into the unknown, God has the power to perform the impossible.

Your navigational system does not give another instruction until you are ready to turn to another direction. The problem is can we endure the silence? Who then can be saved asked the disciples? Mark 10:26-30. Yes, sometimes God says nothing in moment of insecurities. He does not talk just to make you feel good.

Hear this, “On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off” Genesis 22:4. How do you know, that you know where you are going to? Most time we don’t know how but we just know because those who are led by the Spirit shall be called the sons of God. Romans 8:14, 1 John 2:27. Imagine you doing window shopping and the owner of the shop ask you what they can help you with. And you tell them, I am just looking and when I see it that is when I know it.

Sometimes God also allows calamities as opportunities to train us in the school of developing your inner ear to hear him in the crisis. Crisis is just a test. It is not a problem or an issue but a workout. Crises in marriage allows the marriage to grow, it tells us we are humans. It is the ability to learn how to trust God in dark places. The closer Abraham got to his destiny the more he had to release his history. So he said to his servants stay here with the horses. Dedication requires separation; you cannot have dedication without separation; separation from sin partners, separation from things that can kill your destiny Genesis 22:5. Some times we need to say bye-bye to old friends because the closer you get to your destiny, the smaller your crowd becomes.

And if your faith does not bring you to a place of separation, then your life will never become a place of dedication. The navigation system is great because when you missed it, it turns again and tells you how to come back to the route again. Stop fighting and complaining because you are alone; God will whisper and talk to you when you are alone. He is molding your character because character is what you are in the absence of the crowd.

But when Isaac asked for the lamb; Abraham literarily said I have come so far by faith now that I cannot worry about provision. When destiny is calling me, I am willing to walk into it as I go, then trust him and that which I needed He will provide. Genesis 22:8. Abraham was working on the last thing he heard from God, he raised his sword and bound his son to sacrifice to God; because he was operating in past revelation. Genesis 22: 10. The problem in the church today is that we have too many people who are operating in past revelation. It is not that God did not tell you to do it. Many people have cut their future because they kept to past revelation instead of the ‘now’ word from God. Is your dream dead because you have gone deaf to His voice? But always know that when you have run out of friends to call, run out of ideas, know that something is about to happen. See when Abraham was coming from one side, his provision was coming from the other side. Genesis 22:13. Provision is a forerunner to every vision when you take a step to move forward. The provision will be there when you get there; while you are coming from one side, the answer is coming from the other side.

Tips for Stepping into Your Greatness

Number One: Nobody can dim your light but you. Make a bold move.

Number Two: You need to be bold and confident. A man with confidence will lack nothing

Number Three: When you step into your greatness, you attract more people than you repel.

Number Four: The confident People are risk takers. These people take more risks, fall down more often, and wind up shining the brightest. They are great in seed sowing because no man is qualified to have what he has not pursued.

Number Five: All you have to do is your best. Stepping into your greatness doesn’t mean achieving some unattainable benchmark. When you do your best, you let your light shine.

Number Six: Let your fear be afraid of you. When your fears out-powers your confidence, you dim your light. Stepping into your greatness requires facing your fears head on and making the choice not to let them rule your decisions any longer. Nobody knows where this first step will take you. And who knows if it will even amount to anything? Nevertheless, you’ve taken charge of your destiny simply by taking that first step. The possibilities are endless. I challenge you to take that first, big, scary, awesome, life-altering, exhilarating step!

Number Seven: You can’t claim credit for your greatness. Within this wisdom lies your humility. We are all vessels for the Divine to shine through us when we get our egos out of the way. Why would you want to dim your light when it’s merely Divine light shining through you? It is He that giveth you the power to make wealth. Deut 8:18. This is the reason this commission believes that for every testimony you must sow a seed, giving back in appreciation for what he has done for you because when it becomes normal to appreciate God in all things, your life will appreciate.

Finally, everything we do in life starts with baby steps. In order to make strides or progress toward your goals, no matter how big or small, you have to take the first step. Even if it’s the wrong one and you have to start over, at least you’ll have momentum on your side. Anyone can contemplate doing something. Doing something to actually make it happen is another level of commitment altogether. If you’ve always wanted to do or try something new or different, make up your mind that you’re going to do it.
