Colossians 2:13-15, Daniel 12:3, Acts 1:7, Numbers 24:17, 1 John 2:27, Matt. 28:19

Men and brethren, when we pray with godly authority, we can issue prophetic proclamations that shift heaven and earth. The foundation of our authority is based on Jesus who completely defeated sin and death upon the cross and the enemy has no claim over us. All power that death had over Jesus while he was on this earth in human form has been broken once for all. The scripture says “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:13-15. He did not just defeat them, but he paraded that defeat through the heavenly realms. Therefore, whatever you shall decree today in the name of Jesus shall come to pass.

I want to say that somewhere along the lines, the church has missed this parade, and we’re suffering for it. What is wrong with the Stars? “And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever” Daniel 12:3. Has the church categorized sin? Have we categorized sickness because of lack of effective prayer? Heaven is calling us today; we must not ordain what Jesus did not ordain!

The authority of Jesus was prophesied in the Old testament “I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.” Numbers 24:17. See, the star in you shall shine forth, no darkness shall comprehend it. You will bounce back to glory in Jesus name

God’s intention and purpose is that as many as that believed in him should have power over their enemy, and be celebrated by men, wise or foolish men and by Angels. The uniqueness of every person born of God is that wise men will celebrate you at your rising star. Here this, “Saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:2. When we intercede with God-given authority, we will see our prayers become the powerful tools they were meant to be. Our lives and the lives of those around us will be changed. His authority has been promised. Now it’s up to us to take hold of what’s already been given. Be empowered. 

Right where you are, our Awesomely Awesome God will do and perform all of His promises only when we believe and obey His instructions, for God prospers by instructions. There is usually specific instruction for specific performance because He is God that gives specific answer to specific request based on specific promise. God wants us to make a mark on earth. He is God that has answers and solutions to all issues, troubles and questions of life. But let us bear in mind that every one of us will be remembered for two things in this world:

(a) The problems we created and

(b) The problems we solved.

God would like you and I to know that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can even solve the problem we never created. God is more result oriented. The Jews visited Him with a question of legitimacy and legality but He ignored their question and pointed them to divine plan and purpose. Every child of God must ignore the physical and concentrate on the spiritual reality.

Let me highlight the four major conditions we must meet for us to meet God’s standard for the Pentecost experience:

Number One: Knowledge – Jesus said to the Apostles in Acts 1:7, “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” All power belongs to God. He is the only one that knows when power will be transferred and change hands. We must know God’s timing and season for visitation. 1 John 2:27 talks about the anointing within and anointing we must obey. It makes us battle ready and empowers us for God’s entire programme on earth. We must know God; know His word, if we must live in His will. The men of Issachar had this knowledge in the Old Testament and men respected them. “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do” 1 Chronicles 12:32

Number Two: You must be ready to wait: Those that wait on God must surely renew their strength. There is some height of Christian life you will never reach until you receive the Holy Ghost. The disciples must wait for the infilling of the Holy Ghost no matter how long, before they can be qualified to preach the gospel. Impact on earth as a Christian will be impossible without the Holy Ghost experience. We are called in one form or another to work for God, you must be empowered. Find a mentor before you launch out, get trained.

Number Three: Prayers: The disciples were asked to wait with fasting and prayers. It is in word based prayer that heaven comes down on earth. We must pray and expect God to answer our prayers. We must pray for the Holy Ghost infilling with deep expectation in our heart.

Number Four: Desire: Every desire in the kingdom is marked with expectation and commitment. Your identity as a child of God is marked by your commitment. Expectation of miracles without commitment to services and obedience is hypocrisy. God gives us what we desire when He sees our faithful standing. Unless God answers your prayer, do not quit. Wait on Him in expectation.

Finally, the scripture says, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth” Matt. 28:19. Jesus claiming to have “all authority,” means that Jesus was claiming the right to rule; the right to command and expect our submission and obedience. When we talk about “Bible authority,” we are really talking about the authority of Christ. Therefore, we need to acknowledge the authority of Jesus Christ in everything that pertains to our lives as Christians. You too are a part of God’s government on the earth, and He desires to decree His will and purposes through you. You are a member of His church and as such, you have authority to insist on His will and stop the plans of hell. I now declare that no man or power shall destroy you.
