Matthew 11:28-30, Matthew 16:21-27, John 20:24-29, Luke 9:57-62

Men and brethren, life is made in a way that there is no glorification without a cross; any crown you receive without a cross will not bring permanent coronation of your destiny because the Crown is the product of the Cross. No Cross No Crown. By my spoken word today, the yoke of family curse that created torture is now broken. God will cause problems in the camp of your enemies. All those who wish you and your family members evil shall confess in Jesus name. 

The bible says in Matthew 16:21-27 that Peter tried to rebuke the master when he mention how he was going to be treated by man. The disciples misrepresented the purpose why they forsook all to follow Jesus. Can you imagine that those who fail to understand who Jesus was also failed to understand what he came to do? How could you be this close to Jesus for 3 years and not know what he came to do. One of the reasons is that they were expecting Jesus to be a political leader that will deliver them from the hands of their oppressors the Romans. When Jesus talked about the kingdom, the disciples were not thinking of Angels and heavens; they were thinking of overthrowing powers, overthrowing the Roman empire Matthew 16:21-27, Luke 9:23. When Jesus intensified the teaching that He was going to die at the hands of the Jewish leaders and their Gentile overlords, His popularity sank. Many of the shocked followers rejected Him. Truly, they were not able to put to death their own ideas, plans, and desires, and exchange them for His. father, God teach us how to carry the cross and follow you. grant us the blessings and the crown that comes after in Jesus name

Friends, it is impossible with God to have a crown without simultaneously having a cross. If you can show me somebody who has been crowned in the kingdom and I will show you somebody who has been nailed in private because the price of the crown is the cross. Jesus started talking about crucifixion because you are only a great leader if you lead people unto attack. Many people interpret “cross” as some burden they must carry in their lives: a strained relationship, a thankless job, a physical illness. With self-pitying pride, they say, “That’s my cross I have to carry.” Such an interpretation is not what Jesus meant when He said, “Take up your cross and follow Me.” Jesus was talking about being willing to die in order to be ushered to a brighter and greater future. This is called “dying to self.” It’s a call to absolute surrender. Do I have anyone here ready to surrender to Jesus and say Father, use me to your glory. I am ready. I give you my life and my resources to bless others. May God enlist you as a wonder to your generation. 

After each time Jesus commanded cross bearing, He said, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” (Luke 9:24-25). Although the call is tough, the reward is matchless. Men and brethren, suddenly the ministry has entered into real separation that separates real discipleship from fans because when you get in trouble, that is when you know the difference between a fan and a disciple. The disciples were on the run because when faith and fear cohabits together they make strange bed fellows; no wonder Thomas was absent when all others were together after the crucifixion, and even when they told him about the resurrection, he still did not believe until Jesus paid him a visit, John 20:24-29. I see many people here that need the visitation of Jesus. May God grant your request and wipe away your tears and remove your doubts. 

Jesus made a personal appearance into the room filled with fear and doubts and anxiety, away with the notion that God only comes into calm seas, he came stepping on troubled waters and spoke peace because he is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). He gave them what he has ‘Peace’ into a room with hell breaking loose. Therfore, as many of you in fear of the virus and all manner of things that has not come, may You be set free today. Following Jesus is easy when life runs smoothly; our true commitment to Him is revealed during trials. Jesus assured us that trials will come to His followers (John 16:33).

Discipleship demands sacrifice, and Jesus never hid that cost. In Luke 9:57-62, three people seemed willing to follow Jesus. When Jesus questioned them further, their commitment was half-hearted at best. They failed to count the cost of following Him. None was willing to take up his cross and crucify upon it his own interests. The reward is worth the price. The words of Jesus denote the radicality of a choice that does not allow for hesitation or second thoughts. It is a demanding requirement of discipleship Galatians 2:20, Are you of the generation of people who want to be millionaire without working for it? You want to be wealthy without a cross? You want to be successful without sacrifice? You want your children to be great in future without teaching them the ways of the lord? You want your children to be high fliers without teaching them how to fly and putting necessary things in place that will make them eagles? Therefore, to carry our cross and follow the way that does not fear failure, difficulties, isolation, loneliness, because it fills our hearts with the presence of Jesus. It is the path of peace, self-control and a joyful heart. I invite you to go more than just being a ‘fan’ to becoming a disciple and for you to reflect on the conditions that Jesus asked of those who wanted to be his disciples.  Say with me, Father God, let me always remember that’s there is no crown without a cross. I stand by the blood of Jesus shared on the cross to declare, that even though I may stumble, I know that the Awesomely Awesome God shall fight my battles.  Therefore, every heartache and every fear shall be calmed by your word and my spoken word in Jesus name, Amen
