Eph 6:13, 1 Cor 16:13, Exodus 33:17-18, Luke 4:13

Men and brethren, a closer relationship with God means we are committed to be in His service for whatever He has called us to do, no matter what the cost; it could be in our time, our offering, our energy or our talents. Therefore, we must determine within our heart and mind that we will not be a fair weather believers or people that come to God when they have an emergency situation. Eph 6:13, 1 Cor 16:13

A person may be born and grow up in the church, know all the right words and songs and show all the exterior habits and circumstantial evidence of being a Christian and yet find themselves feeling far from God because they lack spiritual updates and lacking dynamic encounter with the living God. To be a believer and a child of power is a relationship, not a ritual that counts because you can be in the best church in town, get wet, slurp communion, look godlier than an angel, and have not a beat of spiritual life.

When last did you check your spiritual thermometer to know if you are still standing? When last did you go to the mountain to seek the face of God? Moses was so confident with his spiritual updates that he does not need to go away for special spiritual retreats to demand for Gods glory, no wonder he said to God “Now show me your glory.” Exodus 33:18. Are you of the generation that is waiting for things to go bad before you can fast and pray? Do you know that the miracles and blessings you got through prayers requires prayers to be maintained and sustained? New levels new devils. “the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him for a season” Luke 4:13. May the season the enemy will return never catch you unawares. 

Jesus said “Pray that you will not give in to temptation.”Luke 22:40; meaning that not praying is tantamount to falling easily into temptation? Not updating your spiritual thermometer is allowing the devil to use you like a handkerchief and as a dumping ground.

Are you of the generation with many requests but without many supplications? There is a difference between grumbling prayer and supplication. God does not do business with people who murmur their prayers Jude 1:16. The scripture says in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God Phil 4:6. A true supplication begins with thanksgiving as taught by our master Jesus Matt 6:9 What is the temperature of your relationship with God? Do you want to increase your temperature? Therefore, “Never stop praying.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

A man or woman who understands the mechanism and dynamics of spiritual update can carry on a continuous, open-ended conversation with him all through the day, talking with God about whatever they are doing or thinking at any moment. “Praying without ceasing” means conversing with God while shopping, driving, working, or performing any other everyday tasks. It is the characteristics of a man or a woman who lives in the consciousness of the peculiar concentrated presence of God. In the Garden of Eden, worship was not an event to attend, but an uninterrupted attitude; Adam and Eve were in constant communion with God. When God is with you all the time, your enemy is in trouble. I declar, God shall trouble your trouble this season.

The Bible says, “He rules everything and is everywhere and is in everything” Ephesians 4:6 The reason we must have a daily spiritual updates is because satan isn’t called our adversary for nothing. He is adverse towards us and wants to rob us of joy and stunt our spiritual growth. He wants to sideline us and make us ineffective in our service to God. He wants to destroy our marriage, steal our children and wreck our life. The bibles says in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Therefore spiritual update is the ability when we are attack to: Stay alert. Stay equipped. Stay close to the Father. Ephesians 6:10 James 4:8. May God empower you.

‘Our physical senses, intuition and emotions are all highly undependable when it comes to detecting spiritual reality. Feelings are changeable, but God’s love is constant. God calls believers to be His hands and feet to translate His love to a hurting world. Nothing gets your mind off your selfish concerns better than to step out and help someone who needs a hand. Service helps you see beyond your own circumstances and become part of something greater than yourself. It plugs you into God’s larger plan and draws you closer to His mind.’ Understanding the Scriptures is not mostly a matter of intelligence but the product of our relationship with God. It is therefore important to pray for understanding. Expect your prayers to be answered but persistence is very important. As we study the Bible and putting it into practice, you will gradually grow in wisdom and spiritual strength. May you be empowered.

It is important to note that when you are in the presence of God you must be like someone hunting for buried treasure so that God can reveal deep secret things of life to you. ‘Unforgiven sin disconnects us from Spiritual updates. The sooner we confess and forsake, the more we are updated. Therefore if you happen to sin, return to God immediately, sincerely ask his forgiveness and trust him for the strength to overcome that sin, so that you will not commit it again. You must also be willing to forgive yourself because if you don’t forgive yourself, you’re implying your standards are holier than God’s standard. May God have mercy on you. 

Finally my brethren, Success is not the absence of failure but the presence of God. Therefore, don’t be discouraged with failure. Spiritual updates allow the indwelling power of Christ inside of you, you have so much power at your disposal, that should make satan  to fear you. All the devil can do is to try emotional warfare. He will try to discourage you. So, cast out all thoughts that you are ‘no good,’ ‘weak,’ ‘hopeless’ because they are lies from the pit of hell. May God grant you a spiritual update that will change your story in Jesus name. Amen.
